Near fatal failure

I take it the idea is that the screw mechanism on the hose clamp will butt up against something if the filter tries to rotate (?), but without the bike in front of me, I can't quite picture what that would be...?

Combats are like the Ugly Duckling story, genetically the best of Norton but essentially main reason Norton finally failed, yet once fully matured its the best Swan in the pond.

On point of subject line today returning on Trixie Combat running just sweet as factory issue can be, which is quite nice ahhh, I dropped off hwy on secondary
narrow paved road doing 50 when suddenly felt rear go soft and skew a bit sideways, which made me flash back to de-rim event here and locked on bars
while easing off throttle to slowly slow down - waiting waiting waiting for the instant flip flop that instantly reverses fork control reflex reactions, but it never hit right down to a stop - where it can be instantly the MOST SURPRISINGLY HI SIDINGLY SHARP. Heat and no tire kit and wisdom learned to ALWAYS hassle on a bead lock, induced me to just carry on and worked up to 30 mph/3rd for most of 5 miles, till tire got rather hot/soft and squirmy but steady to control if forks allowed to let bike ride kind of cocked/skewed like a hound dog tends to do on a slow trot. Ugh more tire changing soon.

I can not more HIGHLY RECOMMEND a few 100 yrds/few minutes practice with low air on purpose near air supply to GET LOW TIRE AIR HANDLING ANTICS impressed to your very bones and spinal cord marrow! ITs exactly the same as oiled tire let go hints before you over do it, it exactly the same skill, balance and reflexes plus nerve needed to out race a competitor by knowing how to get so close to the edge its more a constant recovery effort hardly anyone in their right mind would want to enter but to win like a blow out trained rider. It beats the snot out of a 2 day $3000 Super bike Cornering School hehehe... REALLY!

DO IT DO IT DO IT DO IT DO IT DO IT ditto etc... or we may read about ya in the news.

#43 mounts to the cradle. Hose clamp goes around #43 and oil filter. Should stop filter from moving. You can see it in the pictures I posted at the beginning. The first picture shows the Retainer and in the second picture you can see the hose clamp around the Retainer.

Does that make sense?
