N15 front and rear engine/gearbox fixing plates spacers

Hi.
I have fit all in place (but with some difficult) the spacers on my P11, and now i know ehere they go.
I know that the plates of N15 are different from P11 but the question is if the N15 uses the same spacers of P11?.

The parts book lists the spacers for the N15CS front engine plates as 030221.
If you compare that number with the number for the P11,
they will only be the same if it has the same part number.

Piero, If you go to the Matchless section of this site and look at the two threads titled 'Matchless G15 Project' by me and also 'G15 Questions' by Bill T you will see there was a discussion about the spacers for engine and gearbox and also some useful photos for any G15/N15 rebuild.

Hi Dave,
i have seen the discussion but is very difficult to understand where the spacers go and their width.
Do You know who supply a set of spacers and fixing engine/gearbox?

I don't think you can easily buy the spacers, I made my own. The engine plates have some spacers already welded in place. The first thing is to fit the rear engine plates onto the engine and see if the gearbox will fit nicely in the space. The front engine plates bolt to the engine which you can easily see, but where the plates fit on the frame the long bolt at the front has a long spacer that fits between the plates to fill in the gap between. Look carefully at the photos and you will see some of the plates and spacers in position. Unfortunately I do not have the bike here in HK to inspect it and cannot remember every detail.
 
Yes, the G15/N15 used steel engine plates with the spacers welded to the plates.
The P11 series used separate spacers with Dural engine plates.

Same engine and transmission, but mounted in different frames using different methods. Primary case is similar, but the P11 has a stud running through the primary to support the footpeg perch.

Also, because the transmission is so close to the G15/N15 engine, its oil lines run under the transmission, rather than over, as on the Atlas, P11 or Commando
