My Triton

Since my first real bike was a G15CSR I'm a bit prejudiced in favor of swept back pipes for no reason but I like the look. Since my CSR came with those huge mufflers I added cheap goldie replica mufflers which looked the part wonderfully but had no baffling and rusted early.
I like both bikes shown.
I am glad to see somebody else running those flat bars. My Norton has such a crumby riding position at the moment I'm thinking she may get flat bars before the end of the season.
I'll just have to live with the scorn of the cafe racer kids.

I run the bike with a magneto, so that isn't a problem, once the timing is set all the maintenance is done from the back of the mag. Clutch runs dry....Commando with belt drive....I have an alloy cover which fully exposes the clutch....I chromed the diaphram spring....so I can remover all the plates without taking the cover off. So the simple maintenance tasks can be achieved. But you are right, Granpaul, the pipes have to come off to take either the Belt drive cover off or the timing cover. Also remember they are clamp on at the head, so they come off easily. (Although my Commando ones seem to want to remove themselves  ) I have made many changes from the Manx style, mainly to make the bike more practical to ride, but it is a Triton, remember, it is not supposed to be the most practical bike.

Greetings....

Oh very, VERY interesting!
I have been thinking of putting on a Manx tank on my old Triton (wide line frame) for a while now.
I was told that a genuine Norton Manx tank would not fit the wide line frame. Yet behold all that can see! it is on you bike!
So it is possible. Did you have to "modify" that tank or frame in ANY manner?
Let me be in the know Sir. for I 'am very curious.

Wall-Boy

Oh yes me like your bike!

Kiiks like he sat( packed ) it up a bit . And maybe forward atouch ?

There may be ' a few ' Manx tanxs , astherewas the bo;t on subframe ,and differing strokes / series .
Not tomention short circuit and long range ( I.o.M.) types .

the bothers the Manx Subframe is lower at the front . Butheribg a std seat mount would get it lower at the front.
Done engineeringly it wouldnt be butchered .

Early9 50 /51 ) had swan neck clip[ ons , so didnt have hand hole recesses .

Dang, Matt; lay off the catnip, you're starting to sound like hobot, only less intelligible.

This post has only just come to my attention.
Unfortunately, "bigstu" (Stuart Earnshaw) was killed in a road accident only a few weeks later that year (2009).
