PANIC : http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/NORTON-FUEL-T ... 233wt_1399 GRAB THIS .

Doesnt say where you are , of course . L R F/B Tank , with a conventional seat theyre a bit more conventional . And you could always glue old Atlas / dominator
chromed strakes to it if you wish to appear from antiquity .

IS YOUR BIKE a S S ? ? ? as per picture . Steel tank from Hi rider is near identical . 14 Hrs left on the tank on Ebay UK .

Access the dent internally by tapping out dent from inside reach ,long arm ball-tool, or if that not practical cut out bottom to access, tap out to happiness ,then reweld. It's ALL labour. :| Ross Thompson an option if not risking it.

If just a dent I've done a handfull steel tank recoveries with good ole bondo and sand back to shape slick as can be then have good pain shot on to wax at leisure later. Could try the ole hail dent thermal repair, heat around rim, sometimes with ice cube in center. Youtube it. Maybe run a screw in to pull on or better have a body shop weld tabs on they can pull on then grind to new again. Hillbilly would just spritz some hair spray in and plug it with a fuse then have someone hold their drink while they light it ...

Dent is a Dent.. But there are dents and there are dents.. Speculating over your dent, has as much sense as saying "red cars" go faster.. Picture would solve some issues

Universal Truth: All red vehicles are faster :) especially red Commando roadsters. I vote, fix the original tank.

Duh Dudes, its where the Norton Logo is placed on the brand of the tank that makes em faster or not, just check out the Rotary Nortons and the one Gardner race fielded to see the fact of the matter.

If the dent is in the upper part of the tank my method may work. Take a deep throated C clamp and insert the bottom part into the tank. Take a piece of strap steel big enough to bridge the dent and use it under the upper screw part on the outside. Working from the outer edges of the dent move gradually inward clamping and titening. You probably won't be able to get the metal perfectly smooth especially if it is more of a crease but you will drastically reduce the amout of filler you will have to use and the risk of it cracking.

Red vehicles are more conspicuos and people don't like them...red makes people mad. I can contest to that having had more people smash into my red vehicles than any other color. I like red though :D

I vote leave the dent as it adds character. But like the others have said ...a picture would help. If the dent is actually the top half smashed in, then I suppose leaving it wouldn't really work.

I guess I wanted to get the coments on the new tanks from india.
Yes my Nortons are both 1971 S/S one orange the other yellow

In grandpas day , a 8 yr old could weld up a tank from a old tractor tyre . :D
