Hello All. First off, thanks in advance for any help.
I recently installed a new tri spark ignition. Bike idles beautifully, starts first kick when cold, starts fine immediately after shutting down....but if I wait 10-15 minutes after shutting down and it's hot.....it's a bear to start....6 kicks or more (electric start is not operational). Before the Tri spark I had an old Boyer and the bike was always a first kick starter.
When I installed the Tri Spark, I used the MK III timing peg in the crankcase and noticed the timing mark on the alternator side was off by 2 degrees less. When at 28 degrees according to the crankcase fixing point with the tool...it read 26 degrees on the primary side. I went by the crankcase point and set the timing accordingly. Could the crankcase timing position using the tool be off?
Carbs are original. 17000 miles. But there was no issue prior to installing the Tri Spark.
Thanks.
