Maybe, but there is more to a coil than it's DC resistance. It is the impedance that you would need to know as that determines the necessary charge time [dwell].

Some coils give a spec for impedance but most don't. If you have an LC meter you can compare them.

Mismatch of the impedance may cause damage to either the coil or module or just a weak spark. Jim
 
Every one of my vintage British bikes including my Commando use the HD dual fire coils with electronic ignitions....works great,never had an issue.....PhillySkip

Thanks guys. Skip, I have also always used HD dual fire coils with electronic ignitions, but I hadn't used the Boyer 12v Micro-MK IV before and I remember reading somewhere that the MK IV was for stock 12V or two 6V coils only. Just want to be sure. Do you run the Boyer 12v Micro-MK IV with a HD dual fire coil? I have an email into Boyer as well.
 
I just heard back from Boyer and their response was positive.

Yes that’s fine but it must be mounted by its metal bars to take any heat away from its centre core.
