Trying to fit VM34 Mikuni to my N15, the throttle cable tube coming from the top of the carb fouls the frame very slightly so carb at an angle. Any suggestions?
Don't worry, be happy. Commando is like that where you have to rotate the VM34 just slightly to clear the frame tube. Never noticed an issue in many a mile. I think Mikuni sells a 90 degree bent top cable tube which may help the cable fouling issue.

On a single vm36 I have in the past done away with the carb threaded top adjuster
I drilled the threaded portion out and fitted an Amal ferrel
It makes quite a difference to the cable run
How much room have you got? If you don't mind the modern look ramair foam filters work well
They will tolerate being squashed a bit and don't seem to mind the rain
