Hi fellows, any wink where i can buy Mikuni VM34-36 to Mk3 in States(home pages etc).

i bought mine from Stan at Rocky Point Cycle. He even asked where i live to get elevation so he could make sure it was jetted right before sending to me.

His kit included everything, including the K & N filter, throttle cable, etc. I shopped around, and although I buy most of my stuff from OldBritts, Rocky Point had the best pricing for the Mikuni kit.

(I got the 34m, not the 36).

If i had to do it over again, i think i would get twin Mikunis.

My bike came with a single 36mm Mikuni, but I get a lot of things from Stan at Rocky Point so here is a third reference. Stan is good people.

Ditto on Stan. The older I get the more I realize what a great resource and gift to the Norton community he is. He's not a talker, just comes through time and time again. Prices can not be beat, either.

PS

Old Britts provide better than good service as well. Just tend to be a bit higher priced on certain items. But their website (full of useful, practical tech pages) are ~invaluable, and that alone is worth (even in mucho devalued U.S. dollars) supporting their business in spades. I can also say they provide invaluable person-to-person customer service as well. A more than generous wife/husband team.

I'll go along with the good reference for Old Britts, and the comments regarding thier website.

The fact that I get a reseller discount from them is a plus, for me.

Thanks men

I saw here i can get good and fast service, both companies name i have seen before so they must be good-thank You.

I live in Scotland and have got at least 3 carb kits from Stan quicker than some UK dealers get stuff to me. The only issue is I hate paying tax on them and he won't send them as "gifts" You Americans are pretty hung up on the IRS i guess!! :D

More or less true, but I'd phrase it differently: "The IRS is pretty much hung up on you Americans," would be more accurate. In Stan's business, it's probably too risky to do otherwise than play it safe, as an above the board retailer of parts. For individuals selling parts on FleaBay or the like, not that big of a deal.

Think of it this way: why should we violate Federal law and lie on the customs form, risking possible prosecution, so that someone else can reap the benefits? It just doesn't make sense, particularly for a dealer.

I agree Debby, the fact that our (UK/EU) government likes to charge us purchase tax (17.5% VAT) on goods brought in from non-European Union countries (if we buy from inside the EU then it's already added) it's our problem, and it's a bit cheeky to expect US or other suppliers to lie on any declaration forms.

Even with the tax and a handling fee added on by our postal service for collecting that tax, many things are still cheaper when bought from the US at the moment.
And some of those goods do manage to slip through the customs net without the charge being added.

My view for what it's worth is we pay enough tax for our respective governments to waste at their leisure on all their various expense fiddles
I.E £10,000 for a kitchen in a second home so we should get away with what ever we can.

But not by expecting others to break their own country's laws just for our financial benefit?

Been away for away for a while (not at her majestys pleasure) just picked up on this thread again...I think Gino has it right tax avoidence is legal and evasion is not but when you have worked for 40 years and paid in every week and never had the chance to avoid it,it wriles me a bit
perhaps I'll feel better when it stops snowing and I can rotate me wheels
I've paid me road tax my Mot and my insurance with the tax levy on it so come on sunshine
