May Command attack: National Motorcycle Museum, Solihull.

Go to Mallory Park festival of 1000 bikes you will see 4 cylinder and 6 cylinder home made British bikes made in garden sheds which actually run. These bikes have been made by retired engineers which makes you think guys made these bikes in their garden sheds so why could the factory not produce them.

Indeed, George Pooley has made a 1000cc 4 cylinder T160. He also has an unfinished 4 cyl T150 project. I know that cos I sold to to him (having realised I’d bitten off WAY more than I could chew)!

He’s also made a V6 Rob North, which is rather mind blowing frankly.

But remember guys, these creations are built by by cutting n shutting n welding etc. By guys with infinite time and dedication.

The factory had zero tooling to even contemplate putting such things into production. Sadly.

Agree with you mate the factorys were starved of investment hence thats why i think the best thing that happened to the British motorcycle industry was the Japanese motorcycle industry otherwise we would be riding B S A Bantams.

DATE CHANGE.
Following the invitation by the North Hants NOC, see seperate thread, to a free cup of tea on Sunday 13 May at The Warf Inn, NN6 6JQ. It has been requested to put back the NMM attack to June.
