Do you know the material. As I understand it (not an O-ring expert) BUNA-N is not good for fuel, FKM (Vitron) is; either should be OK for fork ears. but FKM for manifolds.
You're probably right on hardware stores. Look here for the differences in materials and applicaitons: https://www.allorings.com/o-ring-materials-comparisonMcMaster lists Buna-N as being oil and "mild chemical" resistant, and they say "Viton® fluoroelastomer O-rings resist a wide range of chemicals, including benzene, butyl alcohol, and ethylene glycol." Neither lists gasoline. I suspect Buna will be the only thing I'll find at a hardware store.
