The cable anchor can be gotten around. The problem is that the tank sits on top of the cam that lifts the carb slides. That cam holds the tank several inches above the proper position and, with the tank sitting on the cam, the cam can't rotate to open the slides. There is no change that can be made to correct that. The only thing that would correct it would be to cut out a portion of the tank itself and then re-fiberglass it to accommodate that cut out. I would not consider cutting up a nice fastback tank for that purpose.
from the install pictures earlier i think if you move the gantry and the cam over in between the carb lifters it would fit... however i recognize thats a total redesign... probably requires a new mounting plate.

sorry i couldn't help any more.

Yes, it would probably fit as you described but as you noted, that requires a complete redesign of the kit. The OEM cable setup has been working fine since 1973 so it will have to continue to do so! ;)

Item # 17 goes between the cable end and the throttle housing.

I have a good collection of those little throttle cable stops, in, under and around all the little nooks and crannies in my shop. They don't fit into the female side of the throttle housing. So, I turned it down to see if I could size it to fit.

It fits but the walls are pretty thin. If it breaks I am going to try the cable adjuster sleeve/w nut and modify it. https://andover-norton.co.uk/en/shop-details/15730/cable-adjuster-sleeve-c-w-nut-single-

The issue is my throttle twist grip is the Amal replica so I am playing the mix and match game and I am not replacing a non original twist grip that came with the bike with another non original twist grip replacement.

During installation I extended the cable full length and installed the brass ferrule and found the twist grip response so immediate I said to hell with it all and left it alone.

NOW because YOU ;) put the bug out there so I keep looking at it every time I walk by it I am going to end up putting that on my list of cold weather projects since my carb bodies are out getting sleeves installed and I have a new rotor to put in...I guess I can break that down and address it as well.

I keep wondering if I should have taken on the XKE I took a pass on instead of this Norton....but damn, the bike sure is fun.:)

the xke is a deeper money pit than a bike... just sayin' the bigger the boat the deep the hole in the water... and we all know that a boat is a hole in the water lined with wood into which you put money...:D

Yup, I have done XKE's and I had this screwy idea that renovating this bike would be a bit softer on the bank account...in a proportional outlook I was way off.

I thought I'd seen the single throttle kit before, The Bsa triple of 1971 used the same system.
