When Tony McAlpine raced that bike at Bathurst, most of the other bikes in the race were 500cc Manx Nortons, a Vincent has twice the capacity -  so should do something. In Victoria, Arthur Pimm used to race a Vincent motor in a featherbed frame - he also won a lot of races.  However in effect, it is stupid stuff.  There was always a reason that most road races were run in capacity classes. The Unlimited Class was always stupid - it proves nothing. - I'd buy one of Hinton's works'  Manxes before I'd buy that Vincent.
