I'm working on a customers Mk3 engine and noticed it has an extra cast in lump at the front of the crankcase, under the iso mount and in line with the centerline of the engine itself. The engine number dates from approx the last 800 to be built, probably 1976-77. Did the factory intend to use a crank sensor or similar? All the other Mk3 engines i have or seen don't have this extra lump
