Dang smart looking single there, make me sit up straighter to view, cool. Quite the classic looker Commando too. Glad you got to live it up and share some road glow with us. Makes me chuckle to put my self in your place making new plans to repeat it with BMW flavor.

I've been to ireland twice and both times rented a car and drove all over the country. I agree it would be amazing fun on a bike, just not sure how i would get along without a gps... my car was also attacked multiple times by sheep dogs, so that would also be less amusing on a motorcycle.

you can load your own gps with a european map.
that's what i did.
go to the manufacturers website.

I just got attacked last weekend by a little jack russell terrier. Well not exactly attacked, but chased down a dead end street by this thing yapping it's a**e off till I turned around at the end to exit the street . It only gave up when it decided it had to stop to have crap on the side of the road allowing me to make my escape. If it hadn't been for the fact that it's owner had been standing out the front of her house watching, I reckon I would have sunk the boot into the annoying little sod and sent him tumbling into the drain. :P
I thought dogs had gotten over chasing cars and bikes. It hasn't happened to me in a long time, but it's something I remember being quite common when I was a kid.

Great memories of a coast to coast ride (Galway to Waterford) in one day and back the next when I was a teenager. The roads were not as "good" then as they are now and I was on my first bike a 100cc TS Suzuki.Seemed like a huge journey to me at the time when now I would probably do the same mileage on a Sunday jaunt for lunch.

typical rural road and typical weather. (two way traffic) a bit west of clifton.

Dogs can't help themselves and if they get under tires better be in aggressive power mode to run right over with a soft bump than tossed down instantly being too cautious as if in a car. For some reason wild critters tend to dart out just as I pass be, I now think its because they feel i'm distracting a preditor not to notice their escape as much. Like snakes in paradise can spoil a whole trip for a long time after.

looks like you were on the interstates! i went down roads that were grass except for the two tire paths and were two way. There were quiet a few i had to stop head on with locals, they would get out and tell me to drive in reverse for about half a mile and i could pull off where the hay bails were stacked and let them pass lol. I took my mothers GPS with me and bought the ireland maps on ebay for it, little did i know my moms GPS was set to avoid highways so we took some REAL interesting routes. but i had dogs chase me for miles over there, bitting the tires the whole time, one even jumped off a stone wall that was about 5 or 6 feet tall and jumped ONTO our car. fucking pandaemonium driving over there lol
