Hi All,

As most of you know my Commando was painted JPN colors: http://jerrydoe.com/MK3-Norton-Rebuild/NortonCommando-MK3-Rebuild.php, er well some changes- decided I don't like white. I had an EMGO tank and some early side panels. I had a corbin seat. I sent these to Brent and he painted them Jaguar Green and Gold. I can't be happier. I still have the original tank and side panels and might sell them later.

While I had the tank off I added the MK3 spring to the head steady. Went for a ride this morning and it makes a difference (for those who question if it does or not). Other than tightening things and a quick tune and oil change the only other thing I did was add Dave's push rod seal conversion. The bike is still running great.

Thanks for keeping the forum alive. Here are some pics with my new paint (Thanks Brent):

Nice color, beautiful bike.
I am now running and need to do something with my glas tank.
I cant believe how much a small fuel tank can cost.

Wow! Love the colors. I really like the Corbin with the stash spot too. Nothing against the old scheme but this is way better.

My goodness Jerry that is a beautiful, beautiful bike. I am reluctant to say anything negative about it....But of course being a forum, everyone has a little something along the lines of "except for", or "what I would have done"....So, I hesitantly say I personally never cared for the "ELECTRIC START" on the side covers. To me it always seemed as though Norton knew they were up against it and wanted the riding public to know " Hey look, just like Honda we got electric start too". These days let the lookers be thrilled and amazed with a Commando that starts on the button. Ah, but if it won't at least I haven't bragged about it.

Having been a beware of the curse of the green bike crowd I now own two green bikes and really like them. The Jag green looks to have some metal flake in it and really makes is sparkle. Looks great ride the heck out of it and enjoy.

The curse of the green bike is just a miff, Jerry it looks a lot better than the white and the seat sets it off, I like green as well but I also like blue, I have a new Triumph Thruxton Brooklands Green, love the colour, now just ride it and enjoy the moment poeple who see it go WOW.

I had a Jag S type in Jag racing green. That had to go but in loving memory I painted my fastback in Jag racing green. It's a great colour but mine doesn't look quite as nice as yours Jerry.

I'm not a fan of green bikes (I like white) but that is a very nice paint job.
actually......... everything about that bike is really nice.

On a closer look, its got a nice arse. Never though I would like that look but there you go. Id be pleased to ride that bike around all the time.

Very kewl bike !!! I luved the build thread on this bike as well. Thanks for posting :)

Along with the great build, I noticed the carbs "appear" to be NEW Amal premiers ??? If so, as I am just curious, what king of highway MPG does it get ?

The color is great. I love the little bullet behind the seat. It improves the line and look of the bike. I would like a Corbin Gunfighter but I sit too far back for it to be of use. The fender stay is the bees knees or the dogs leg.

I'm not a fan of white bikes, BRG looks a lot nicer to me. To each their own, eh?

Looks great, Jerry. Congrats!

It looks delicious off color green, like something a rich Leperchaun would ride.

Wow Jerry,
I always love seeing them back together as opposed to the tins sitting in my shop. You must be thrilled. I love those colors together. Yours is now the third Norton I've done in that scheme. Hopefully you all don't show up at the same place! Happy riding through that brutal Orange County winter.

That's funny Brent,, our "Winter" has not quite started yet, it's been over 100' here a lot lately & I'm WAY over the heat. Jerry that beautiful green looks bloody well right to me.. Hope you had a great time riding it last weekend, you've done an amazing job on that bike, don't know how you find the time!! Glenn.

What Biscuit said ... magnified by 3! It's gorgeous.

Oh god, I'm so glad someone else feels this way! Not to single out Jerry's bike in any way, of course. I just hate my "Electric Start" decal. Especially now that I have removed the starter.

I've found more often than not, guys have told me to not put the Electric Start back on the side covers when I paint them. Some seemed almost embarrassed by them, others just did not like the look. And then there are guys like Jerry who clearly want them. I guess that's what makes the world go 'round.
