Yes - I broke my full constant attention on path ahead d/t warning a crow eating road kill on double yellow to get out the way with a horn toot which he still hesitated so I slowed below 55 til he cleared road then after a few seconds seeing clear road straight ahead glanced in mirror 3 sec in which time a deer landed in my lane as I brought eyes back on path, too close to react too at all so just luck it leaped in nic of time. Two dead deers ago I averted eyes to rear tire an instant to make sure it was wind gusts not tire flat before I zoomed up a easy turn at 75, what maybe 3/4 sec glance away then on mid swing back to path I got smacked hard mid bike and foot so when eyes focused all I saw was tree tops and blue sky as big doe went under the rear. I am not a robot I get distracted for instants and always aware of it but any distraction can be the last at any time. I was shook up knowing I would of been on Trixie if not down for head gasket leak, so flaired my dyslexia more. Its was full bright and warm clear daylight 9:45 am. Its events like this that trained me to always aim agresively at deer to no matter which way they go its out of the way. Takes scared guts to hold aim right at em till close enough, for them to realize the zooming in view w/o running legs really is after them... too often its more than one that freak out to run into each other and trees and fences or just spin right out in place on THE Gravel so I have to brake or fast dodge not to run right over em. On next Peel I will not dodge nor flinch even if I run over em or go right though them on hi throttle aggression mania.

This Qualife shell is make do vanity item until a ITT gearbox saved for. Its obvious the main shaft race got spun in its bore. But case don't seem cracked so after Jim said he's used JBW I lit up as my kind of machinist skill. I have no doubts if I snapped Peel throttle on pavement going slow I'd snap the drive train, maybe even going rather fast. Over 100 lb ft predicted. But may not like the Drouin as too much for THE Daily Graveling and many users mention its impeller resists flicking, hm. I have 4 priority projects to juggle, one more headlight from last car-deer death, mower deck, Trixie the smoker and Peel to take what she's made for, to use the F--K up til end of time for me.
 
Okay, I got it now. It was a typo that threw me.-------"brought eyes to road path to see a deep dead ahead 3 car lenghts then leaped away within one lenght"------it was a deer, I was thinking it was traffic ,,,or...er...ah, nevermind. Cj
 
Yes a typo and hard to stay on post point when I'm routinely reminded I could die or be permanent cripple before or soon after the bearing bore solved. The first time I had two deer leap out and stop on hwy facing opposite directions tail to tail a dozen bike lengths ahead going 60 mph, i death gripped bars for impact imaging next instant to force teeth out back of my skull, they parted for me with inches to spare. I could of slapped their rumps but for my death lock on bars. Events like this last .3 sec to 2 sec warning. The ones that get me have no time involved, just instant smack as fast or faster than eyes can register an image before White Lightening head injury-PAIN wipes all images out.

I think you were teasing/putting me down for my slack road habits, but I can't and ain't upset with that, as its life/death true, I thought I was safe after checking ahead to look in mirror, but I was wrong again and you are right - if I'd not glanced in mirror I'd seen the deer leap so would of been able to aim eagerly right at it to teach it a lasting lesion instead of my Fright Reaction. Only Ms Peel can run a deer down on purpose, other craft deer see in time they can and will avoid in nic of time. When I get her crash cage installed I won't pull out-veer off before actually racing over them off road or spliing them apart at hwy and above speeds. I have post trauma deer shock ok, I awake at times d/t deer flashing to mind, I often don't hop on bike d/t deer fears, its wearing to point I question my sanity to ride. Keep this in mind when listening to my seeming cavalier attitude, its an act, I feel way too un-skilled and vunterable too often. If ya can power on so front about lifted, cycles can go right over objects about tire height and land ok. When I grunt Ms Peel's big block blown torque into deer the mainshaft bearing fix will be tested.
 
Gopher count is now 5 - but they stole two more of my traps. Chewed the string off. Tried copper 14G wire but it's to stiff to slip the traps down the hole without tripping em.

The Macafee traps are not $12 :x Bought a new one; I'll crimp up some old toothy - wire - fish line this time.
