The tank came from Road and Race in Australia, the seat and fairing from Gowanlocks in Australia.

More Questions Graeme .Whats that banded to the right frame tube ? Is it a proportioning valve :?:

High and Low speed compresion damping. Seemed like the best place to put it, easy to get at and out of the way.

I discovered Ducatis in the late '80s and fell in love with the Darmah. Bought 2 basket cases and restored them. I take them out as much as possible, red line them, ride them as hard as I can and they are always a joy. Wait....not entirely true, they are Italian, so for every hour of great riding there's the 2 hours of tweaking after to get them to run just a good the next time. Pleasure and pain go hand in hand!

Hello Darmah,
Nice looking pipe on the SSD, where did you get it, or who made it? Can you post a larger picture please?
Good to see they get ridden too.

It is a Verlicchi race pipe. Glad you like the SSD. It is my favourite bike ever and I am lucky to own one. The engine was built by Brook Henry/VeeTwo in Freemantle, Australia about 8 years ago. Full race rebuild and it turned out wonderful. I really should video it one day and post the result on YouTube as it sounds amazing. I really need to take more photos of it too as I only have two and they are both really low rez. Next sunny day!! Meanwhile here is the other shot that I have. I've had the SSD since 1992 (the SD since 1996) so no excuse for having so few photos of them it's just that I'd rather ride than photograph.
