gay...10k pound markup...someone else could have that bike that actually wanted it

You gotta be careful w/ this stuff.
It could be one hellava good scam.
We have Craigslist scammers all the time taking peoples $ for foolishness.
Guy on the news last night was arrested for being an animal trainer who took $/pets from the pet owners and sold the peoples pets to other unsuspecting people.
I real bottom feeder.
I'd be careful buying an item that isn't even built yet.
Tough economy has forced the really creative crooks to come out from under their rocks.
I'm a police Officer and see greed get the best of good people.
I know this is no bargain price so it is not tempting our foolish side, but you could very well send a
deposit along w/ 50 other people and the seller is no where to be found even after convincing you the bike
is really being built for them.
In short be careful my fellow riders. Times are hard enough w/o getting taken for a deposit.

It'd be funny if norton found out who it was and then sent them their money back. I'm sure there are people waiting for one of the reserved to default or cancel their order.

Pelican,
Amen to your comment.
Unless the orig. person who ordered the bike fell on some unforseen financial mishap which is quite previlent these days.
I'd say they are trying to hit a home run off someone else.
If again as I posted earlier the offer is even legit.
If I wanted a new Norton, I'd wait about a year to let the factory get rider feedback and work out the 1st model year bugs.
Then I'd get one after they were tooled up to production speed.
Prices would be stable if not set and you would know that the company will be around another season.
Just got off my soap box.
Thanks for allowing me to indulge.

Did you not see the part where the watch was thrown in?

Just another "Scalper". Wouldn't it be humorous if that person got stuck with that bike and it happen to be the only "Lemon" out of the first 50.

IIf I don't mistake, last week on ebay there was a resrvation for a bike due in may who reached 1250 pound (the face value of the reservation was 1200...). I'm afraid this a speculation - not one of the finest, though - made by somebody who simply changed his mind...
P.S. I know I have to introduce myself: i'm doing it immediately in the pappropriate section of the forum
