It is with deep regret...!! apparently the Germans were playing the long game.... who knew.....!!

Could you picture that rolling into Russia with a sidecar 7 years later?
Too right!! Could’ve also been the first “Batcycle”.

can’t you imagine Bruce Wayne... “Ve haf vays of making to tock, you know..”
“Get me ze Bat-syringe!”

...that logo on the tank? does it mean that too is an option?
...better check the rest of the bike for that logo!!

I would stick my neck out and say the 961 is the most beautiful motorcycle ever made. The BMW is to my eyes, without wishing to offend anyone, just plain ugly!
Well that's to be expected from a nation that calls nipples "breast warts" ! (According to James May anyway).

My eyes tell me that most beautiful bike ever manufactured is my “Griso 1100” , please note beauty is a personal perception , the BMW , while I have no doubt a great bike it just don’t do it for these eyes ... actually never have been a fan ...

"Most beautiful bike ever manufactured." Now that's a tough one. I don't think I could ever narrow the choices down to one. Awfully hard to beat some of the Ducatis, but if you included rideability as a criteria, that would eliminate a lot of those:D. But the Italians have certainly had some other beauties too. I'm currently drooling over a Brutale that a friend is thinking about selling.

Modern production bikes.
I like the looks of the Ducati monster and Streetfighter.
Mv Agusta Brutale and Superveloce.

The most beautiful production bike of all time is hands down by far the Vincent Black shadow.

No engine is more elegant and beautiful. It’s truly art work.

and the Godet Vincent is sublime, though not a true production bike.

Where have u been Bluey72e, there was a joke going the last century, 70 years of making a boxer and 10 years of making a brick! :)

Ya know. I just bought a 2020 R9T Pure. Only ridden for a couple 100 miles. I really like it! I traded in my EBR1190SX on it.
Was very shocked when I started looking up accessories for the Bimmer! WOW!! Expensive!
Bought my 961 Commando SE in 2918 with 550 miles on it. I LOVE it! But it's not an everyday bike for me. Love the look of the engine. But in my mind it's a great bike in need of an engine(Nice tranny too)! But I'll never sell it.
My other bike is an 03 Aprilia Tuono. Now that is a fun bike that is really comfortable & plenty of power. Went on a 2000 mile trip on it.
For bike shows, bikes nights or taking it the museum bike days, I take the 961. It gathers a crowd!
Where does the BMW fit? Not sure yet. But I'm sure I'll find a use for it!! Lol
The accessories for the Thaiumphs are pricey as well and the quality lacking , so that's just par for the course.

At the risk of much ridicule I submit this:
It is with deep regret...!! apparently the Germans were playing the long game.... who knew.....!!

Bevel head ducks are beauties.

But the shape and stoutness of the Vincent is mesmerizing.
I can stare at a Vincent motor from different angles of hours.
It's an organic design that kisses the eye.

Beyond all shadow of doubt bevel Ducs are beautiful indeed. I wish I had one to try looking the good out of.

I've never heard that. I would assume he's talking about male nipples which is fair enough (what are they for?).
Of course it's well known that when James speaks, his one voice represents the 50 million plus inhabitants of this sceptered isle.
As has been said, looks are subjective. All I'm saying is that I can't imagine the R9T winning any beauty competitions, it's not in the same league looks wise as the 961 - in my opinion.
I've also, incidentally, always considered the VW beetle one of the ugliest cars ever made, but then it's also happens to be one of the biggest selling cars of all time - so what do I know?

Are you including the 250, 350 and 400?
I’ve been trying to get my hands on this original 1970 Ducati Mach 3 Desmo 350 with the rare dual cap tank, clip ons and tach.

I didn't even know that Ducati imported the singles to the US.
I was referring to the 750 and 900 bevel heads.
Loved them since I first saw them in the Berliner Motors brochures.
Yellow/Black Sport, and Silver/Blue Supersport.

While I no doubt admire the Vincent bikes , the brand , the history and all the amazing feats accomplished , I just have to admit the engine looks too busy for my eyes .... the bevel Duc or even a belt Duc L Twin stands well above visually for me as well as the V-twin Guzzi’s , as I have alluded to earlier beauty is in the eye of the beholder .... none of us will reach a consensus on beauty but it is fun to hear others observations .... also my ‘72 Commando is right up there in this conversation .....
