Isle of Man Superbike TT held today. Norton finishes in 18th place. Considerable improvement on last year.

I am pleased that they at least got a half-decent finish on an untried bike. Let's see how they progress from here.

18th place from a name with a racing history of winning such as Norton??? I think it's darn good considering how they've done since the last win which ( correct me if I'm wrong ) was in 1973?

The last Norton TT win would have been the 1992 senior - with the rotary engine, I believe. Steve Hislop rode it, and it was a Norton manufactured engine in a Spondon frame I seem to recall, so the 1973 win may have been the last entirely Norton manufactured win.

Yes, Steve Hislop piloted the Norton rotary to victory in the Senior in 1992. I was lucky enough to have been there to watch. Hislop was arguably the best TT racer of his day and a superb short circuit racer as well.
