Is there morals in business anymore

What we are talking about is intellectual property. When a scientist creates IP, it is usually owned by the company for which they work. IP ownership is used by corporations to justify profit-shifting for tax avoidance purposes. Patents and design registrations are only a construct which in effect mean nothing. In the neoliberal ethos, the whole system relies on having strong watchdogs to control criminal activity. Politicians are responsible for funding watchdogs. So in the end what you can buy depends on how much money you have. The Chinese are at least honest - their monetary system is bottomless, and so is that of the rest of the world. We simply economise to maintain a wealth disparity. When there is a world war, money is never a problem - the wealth baseline simply shifts to a new normal - The same will happen Covid 19..

It sucks that other people make a similar version of the great thing you created. Pictures of some of my most elaborate jobs end up in the portfolios of the contractors who hired me to do the work, and there's no mention of me in their texts... If you talked to any of the customers they will all say they love my dedication to excellence. Do those contractors who bid a potential next project show the pictures of my work as a sample of the quality of their company's work, and then hire someone cheaper...??? Of course they do,... Welcome to america....

I don’t think you’ll find a more
“Morals centered “ person-Buisness man than Matt Rambo and I’m pretty sure any one who’s done Buisness with Matt would agree !! Careful boys and girls once you put it out there it’s forever

I would like to hear matts side but so far it has been nothing but crickets.

I just want to say that for the record, I bought the original :) part recently.

To prove my prior point though, I found out about the part purely by scrubbing though old threads on this site using the keyword searched "upgrade". Thankfully, I could not be happier with the buying experience and product quality/instructions.

Dude, I didn't say shit about Matt in my post... so I don't know why you are quoting me for your admonition. I was just saying it sucks to have a great invention and then have someone else make a similar version of it for sale.

Then I added the narrative that characterizes the unfairness that relates to my own business... and of course, I could tell stories all day long about that kind of thing, but certainly nobody wants to read that crap.

Well, IMHO, if I were in Matts shoes I’d get on with running my business and not allow myself to get dragged into this!

Any response he gives will create counter responses and drag out the issue to no benefit. Social media is notorious for its inability to resolve differences!

Standard social media practice these days seems to be to let it lie for two weeks, and it’ll most likely be forgotten history by then!

I also think it important to note that dynodave has also not spoken in this thread. If dd wanted to raise a complaint in public, that would be his prerogative to do so, as it would be for anyone to defend themselves if they felt necessary to do so. But so far, this thread is simply pulling us all into 2nd / 3rd hand tittle-tattle and maybes!

Really, IF dd has an argument with Matt, then he should pick up the phone! All us none related parties squabling about what may or may not have happened isn‘t helping anyone / anything.

This thread is dangerously close to the ‘cancel culture’ mentality that is a true scourge on modern society IMHO. I think we are all (usually) a little more grown up than that on here. Aren’t we?

My morals, assuming I have any, lie with whomever has the best product for the price and whomever makes it the easiest to buy from.

'Quality does not cost - it pays' - but whom ?
After I retired, I worked 'on contract' at a higher salary. I experienced continual ageism in attempts to get me to go 'on staff' - much cheaper. I never did, I simply walked away. If they don't want to pay my price, they don't really need me there wasting my valuable time. You are a long time dead.
I had to laugh. In one company in which I worked, a guy stole all their drawings and their customers and set himself up in opposition. Loyalty might have value but business ethics is an oxymoron - like army intelligence. - there ain't none.
Don't cop any shit. You only live once.

There is one of life's lessons we all must learn:
'The system runs on bullshit'
Once you understand that, you will never be disappointed because your expectations are not so high.
In Australia, we had Tony Abbott as Prime Minister. So what would you expect our businesses to be like ?
Some of our guys are borderline criminal and many are beyond. One of the things which has been endemic is price fixing. When have competition watchdogs and politicians who pull their teeth out.

SG was neither genius or insane.
There is an old story which says you can fool some people all of the time, but you can't fool all the people all of the time. . . .

Most of us tend to worry a bit about our debts. Criminals can often rationalise what they do so that it is OK. But what is a crime ? - What is the difference between the Mafia and any other large organisation ?

I have never dealt with DD or Matt, when I need parts for my Norton or if I am upgrading parts I do my home work first, then do business with the best prices as well who can deliver the quickest, I also read feed back if any or how they reply to emails, face to face contacts or on the phone most things these days on the world market are copies, some are good copies and some are so badly done, some are over priced and not all cheaper ones are bad, in fact some copies are better than original bits, like I say I do my home work and buy what is best for me, I am not loyal to any business but I will always buy from the people who have looked after me in service and prices as well with back up if any problems.
The world is a open market and will always be up to the owner to decide who or what is best for them and their bike.

Ashley
