Installing completed engine assembly into the frame, Will this work?

Or get the dosser who was lying on the mattres give you a hand...and drop him a few bucks for his help:D
 
Many great comments and ideas shared in this thread, I appreciate it! Completing the engine on the bench and laying the frame over it is a good route but I'm not afraid to attempt installing the cylinder head while in the frame either. I will be mulling over my options as I ready components for assembly. I'll keep you posted! Thanks again!
 
I did just that last summer. At 75, I knew I couldn't do it alone. so asked two of my younger friends to help. With those two lifting the engine, and me putting in the bolts- it literally took 5 minutes, IF that to complete. I did have it up on a bench, which I think was a big plus, as it was almost straight in.
 
It appears from Greg's post link and what I've seen on YouTube, that for a complete bench rebuild, placing motor and gearbox in the cradle first will work. Barring any new direction, that is where I am headed.
