You chose wisely.


Be sure to retorque the head with the composite gasket. They can start weeping before they blow out. Gotta catch the retorque timing before the gasket blows out. That might only be an issue on higher compression engines that see some excessive RPMs though. A stock engine ridden by a mature gentle riding owner might only see a minor indication that the head gasket is weeping a little and not a blown out gasket. I retorqued mine at 50 and again at 200 miles. I may have to retorque again at some point. Other members might have different milage numbers and maintenance technique for retorquing a Norton twin head.
