Hi, I have a Commando Roadster mk2a 1975. What is the Correct way for the indicator stems to be fitted to the bike, does the short stems go to the front or rear.

Thanks Neil

I believe the short stems go on the rear. The long stems are used to mount the headlight shell to the "ears"

As you are a UK member, if your Commando has standard UK size number plate then it needs long stems at the rear.

My American ‘75 Mark 3 is totally original and has long stems fore and aft.

Thanks for the reply’s. My Commando is a Uk model and has the long stems at the rear and short at the front, however I have a 1972 triumph tiger 100 with the stems fitted the complete opposite.

Neil.

With the long stems you will forever be walking into them. In the past I have removed them.
Now that I am older and a bit wiser, I feel vulnerable turning left without indicators.
In future I will be installing them but with the shortest stems I can make/find/modify.

I made SS stems shorter both fore and aft. They look better but then others mount them down near the coils which look better yet.
Being an old person Im not one for indicators but then hand signals mean nothing to anyone under 60 so really sensible to have them now.
