GrandPaul - Your basic, simple wiring harness, mentioned above. As I disassemble my 73' 850 I become more stressed about all the hanging (not connected) wiring. I believe in "less is more" making me curious about the harness you refer too.

Thank you very much for the diagram, sadly it's like reading Sanskrit for me. Right now I'm replacing the isolastics - front, rear and head steady - and while the bike is stripped down was considering ripping out old wiring and installing a new, simpler harness. I've installed a tri spark ignition (successfully), and believe I am capable. I'll look for videos on installing a new harness – any suggestions, or maybe I just leave it alone?
 
Just follow one wire at a time from whatever component, thru it's switch, back to the battery.
 
Wiring aside, for now.

I read all the responses, pictures (most) appear to have suffered from the "Photo Bucket" syndrome, thankfully not contagious...Did I miss something?

So, Joel, have you got it running? Have you kept up with the guy who gave it to you; I hope you haven't named it "Christine"
