I need to know what is suggested for fork oil on a 1973 750 Commando?
I promise next time I will use search function
PS if it matters the temp here is 87 degrees all year long.

Be aware, that fork oils vary widely. (Versus engine oils that meet an industry standard range).

Also, 20wt engine oil differs dramatically from 20wt fork oil.

For instance: 80wt gear oil goes into the gearbox on the old 2-stroke bike, when 10-30 was factory specified.

From the picture, the 61 ES2 was converted in 1963 to the norton 400 electra. I have my original 1965 Electra and everything looks the same, seat ,forks, fenders, tank, headlight, front wheel and brake hub, back wheel, transmission, and what I can see of the frame, it looks the same. I guess I learned something today !!! PS VERY NICE LOOKING BIKE!!!!

Not really. The ES2 is a slimline featherbed frame while the Electra used an AMC derived bolt together frame. Although looking the same the tank and seat were not interchangeable. I once had a ‘63 Electra 400 also. What was in common were the front forks and front and back wheels.
