pierodn said:How to recognize if an alternator is single phase or three phase?
I have two alternators, the first with just two cables, the other with three cables including two coupled together: say something this difference?.

Pattern? RM21? RM23?pierodn said:Third, no number, 2 wires .
Yes. RM21pierodn said:May be the 47205 is a 12 VOLT, 10 AMP ?

pierodn said:in case, please, let me have a name of the new alternator's company.

A stator with three wires doesn't necessarily mean it is three-phase, and if two are apparently joined (green/yellow & green/black?), then it is unlikely to be three-phase. Are there any numbers stamped on the metal stator frames?

Now I am confused :!:
I thought that all alternators were of 3 phase output,
Bernhard said:otherwise why have they got to have a rectifier fitted to convert the electric output to 12 volts :?:
