How the Rocket III is made

Standards are slippng . The Rider drinks from a PLASTIC Tea Cup .!

If you own a Rocket III and wish to double the power output , it will be nessesary to fit an extractor Exhaust system .

Probly cut and weld the bolt in the way under ypour Right heel . Three pipes Fwd from there, UP at the front of case ,with
' S ' to match lengths , as pipes curve over case , pipe from rear cylinder lowest, others parrallel. Matched Length .
3 1/2 Dia collector to right angle under at rear , and 3 bolt break joint for raceing .

Pity they dont offer big Carbon 69 R III type silencors , and a general clean up .

Traditionalists abhored surplus components in the 70s . hence the detestation of Jap ' Blin g' .

EARGHK .

Ram air induction would clean up the intake gee gaw too .

Then theres . . .

DAMMIT!!!

Just when I can resist getting a new bike....

The new gen R3 is a great bike.

It does need de restricting to give the full expected experience though.

Or you could go full on bat shit crazy and add a blower !

Now THAT would be in the spirit of EK !!

They've joined harley in the tractor market... and they can't pull an implement either!
A picture if a big engine does not make it good.

I'm a motorcycle rider - not a tractor driver!
Can you explain the advantage the extra 1700cc (FFS!) gives you?

Take one for a test ride. You mostly likely won’t like it, but it costs nowt for the experience.

I do smile when people criticise things for being unpractical / not necessary / etc.

If you ride ANYTHING more than a cheap Japanese 250, you are already well out of the realms of practical ‘need’ and into the realms of ‘want’ !!

Rob I can guaranteed that they aren't a tractor (although they look like one), very fast and they handle pretty good for their size, a good mate has the sports model, it goes like the clappers and handles like a light weight bike in the twisties, and in the hands of a very experience sports bike rider it's a weapon and it's fu cking fast, they are a big heavy bike but what Triumph have done you be surprised in how well they handle and feel light to ride, put the older model R111s to shame, they are a well balanced bike.
Best thing you can do is not knock them till you rode one, that's if you ever get the chance to, I thought the same till I had the chance to ride my mate's, if I had the money I love to have one in my stable.

I rode one the first year they came out, whenever that was. The dealer promo was "Ride the Rocket 3 and get a free T shirt". They said they were as fast as a Hyabusa from 0-60. Dealer wouldn't let you ride it too far, good for him, probably would have killed myself. It was the fastest bike I ever rode. All the weight just disappeared with a crack of the throttle. I did think of buying one, just so I could plow the fields quicker, and get home to dinner sooner. :) I still have the T shirt and I'm always late for dinner.

Love it.

on that very first test ride, I pulled onto US Rte.1, and promptly SMASHED the throttle. UP SHE CAME!
The bumstop seat kept me from making a fool of myself in front of 50 people. 😎
