Good Thing I Have an Oil Pressure Gauge!

Those coils are fantastic IMO. My playing around on the dyno has demonstrated unarguably that a big powerful spark benefits these old motors.

If you’re running Tri Spark I would highly recommend getting one that’s been well researched and is proven to compliment the Tri Spark. In other words, buy from Matt at cNw.
Figured they might work well.

Matt is a good guy. If I had a Commando, I'd probably get his coil since his included plug leads and so on are measured up for a Commando mount. I would be mounting the coil in a different location and making up my own plug leads, so will source elsewhere.

My Norton engine does start with one kick using the dual coil I am using, but always looking for something that could be better.

I’m honestly not sure how much a bigger spark would help starting. I kinda suspect it might not have much impact?

But I do know it can have a big impact on mid and high rpm power.

Don't forget stuff you can't see like stock cams, points ignition with the associated ancient electronics, and triplex chain driven wet clutches.
