Gearbox sleeve gear side play

I have noticed side play on my sleeve gear
This is with the drive sprocket fitted and the nut fully tightened I can move it in and out about 0.060
I'm assuming the main bearing is loose in the gearbox housing?
Has anyone successfully cured this with loctite or similar?

Almost certainly the bearing is loose in the case. I've used Loctite 609 bearing mount successfully on race bikes, but don't know how long it will last on a street bike with higher mileage use.

Ok I guessed it could only be a loose bearing
I'll give loctite a try, I could do with not having to buy a gearbox shell at the moment
