About 3 weeks ago i was summer first crusing and stopped engine for a while(10 min)i started riding again and gearbox was jammed.i found only 1st and 2nd gear and the selector was moving very slowly.I openend gearbox and only reason what i found was missing oil seal sleeve gear bearing.maybe one reason was that most of oil was gone but no any mechanicak damages. Now after over hauling i find only 4th gear and neutral!!!,any ideas what i did wrong-maybe something wrong in outer cover position...

I'd have a look at the camplate and the shift forks.

1 - Shift lever rachet pivot spring legs not set parallel with just enough
clearance to let pawl pass.
2- miss timed camplate, but surely you tested before closing up.
3. Bushes worn slack, but not if just gone though
4. Dogs ears worn, but why would they be if recently checked.
5. Shoe elves and grope monster get inside when not looking.

Before i put outer cover back,i tested gearbox and all four gear was working by quadrant-maybe the moving was need on power but anyway all gears was founded. But after putting back outer cover i found only 4th gear and neutral.

MrNoton I feel you blank starting un-comprehending staring at
major tested component that fails to function once in normal
operation.
I'd have it happen on everything, sometimes my over sight, sometimes
others supplying bad parts or just time and fate splashing together.

One like you was getting stuck kick level from behind the foot
peg loose that made me have to push start to get home.
Took off outer cover to double check, found nothing to mess
with- put back on, shifted through gears in shed running, all
fine, then headed across grass to drive way and never made
it with tranny jumping out of gear and no response to lever.
Opened again to find the pawl spring broken by age rust
yet I'd not handled it.

I spray pain clear or color over the gear box steel parts
not constantly covered by oil.
