I don't really follow prices on tanks, but would like opinions on what a good steel interstate or roadster tank would sell for needing paint. Also good steel interstate covers needing repaint? Email, PM or answers here would be great.

up near $500 for a new steel tank plus painting.
Good luck with the steel Interstate side covers search.

No I have a set of interstate covers and a tank with seat and an extra roadster tank and am thinking about not keeping one or the other. I am more interested in opinions on what the interstate stuff would go for. I did figure about 450 for the roadster tank.

Steel interstate tanks sell for a bit more than equivalent steel Roadster tanks MOST of the time.

With e-bay, you just never can tell.

oOps misunderstood.
I've been on the lookout to replace my Glass tank. Decent used (Flanged) Roadsters have been going
for around $300-$350. Decent (Unflanged) Roadsters $400 give or take. The Interstates are a tough
one to nail down. $350-$500.
Steel Interstate side covers are a rarety. I can only guess at $75-$100 each.

Check out RGM, they have steel covers for interstate and roadster for around $75 each. They have several alloy tanks for starting at around $600 each. Interstate and roadster available. Not bad prices for what you are getting, and long life and light weight to boot.

There are a couple of steel Interstate tanks on eBay now (Norvil, is that Les?).
Hold on to your hats (and wallets) - $1000 US

I lucked into a steel Roadster tank off eBay last year for $350 - original paint, excellent condition. Used it on my brother's '72 that had developed a LEAK in the fiberglass tank.

Sealed that one with Caswells and sold it for $50.

I did see the UK ebay tanks yesterday, a little over the top I think. If a tank is going for that much the whole set covers, seat and tank would be crazy expensive in the UK. Maybe I should just hold on to them.

Thing is, they are NOT going for that much. The reason why they've gone unsold for the 3 months I've been watching.
The seller's being, "Optomistic" in his value estimation.

I know those UK tanks are out of line and have an idea of what I would want, I just hate shipping big stuff and refuse to give ebay any of my money in fee's. It is apparent these things aren't going to become more available with time and holding on to them isn't going to hurt me.

If all your Roadster tank needs is a yellow repaint. I'd give what your asking.
PM if you want to sell it.
