Hi Gents

The manual is just a little unclear about the 6 O rings that go in the upper and lower yokes at either end of the headlamp mount.

It says that one ring goes at the top and 2 and the bottom..........

Do the bottom ones just kind of sit on eachother and just get mashed in place when everything gets snugged up?

Kind of a minor detail , but if anybody has come across this same issue.....could you give me an idea?

Thanks much

Your correct, they kind of sit on each other. Put a dab of grease on them to hold'em in place as your putting the light brackets on. And even then as the fork tubes are pushed up you still might roll them out of place. Lube the tubes too as you push them home.......

Is there anything else that can be used in their place? Is their purpose simply to keep the headlight ears from rattling? I was able to save about 4 of them. And they are not in the greatest shape.

Yes merely to keep annoying sound and light filament vibration down. My Trixie decayed when last put on so they fell out and I've not replaced them yet till I know of a better way. Single zip ties don't last long on THE Gravel paths and I sometimes reach out to headlamp just to make sure that's all that causing the loud destructive sounds I hear.ugh.

Well, you could ditch the stock headlight brackets ... and install some "el cheapo" brackets from JC Whitney like I have. Just my 2 cents ...

Front fork O ring question

Oh yes I took the after market ears path on Peel, but not so cheap CNW issue. But its obviously not Norton so it ain't for plain Trixie. Tape would work a while but a mess to service forks and certainly will rattle again, at least in my paths. Await a shop gemstone left here on it or my own brain storm this winter shut down. In some cases its better to just bite the bullet and keep spares on hand along with all the other non obvious consumable items. C'do's ain't sail boat level decay but not that far away on shore.
