I was told once, that if it had racing or motorcycle in the description, you paid a premium for it.

7 to 15 times more is some premium !

I agree that suppliers cannot check all the products, but if you suddenly have 4 or 5 unrelated customers complaining of the same issue it doesn't take much ( as I've proved) to check & see the issue.

Years ago I had a Honda 400/4 to which the P.O. had fitted TT100's. It was literally the most frightening bike I have ever ridden. There was no feel on the front, and in corners or roundabouts it felt like the front was going to tuck under & wash out at any moment. Two up was even worse. Steered well clear since (excuse the pun) :D

I've sent RGM pics of my micrometer readings for disc thickness variation of 2 thou:

And a straight edge across the disc shows a gaping gap of at least 8 thou:

They are going to send a courier to pick up the disc.
No doubt they'll send it back to Velocette who will proclaim that it is AOK.

Banging out a cast iron disc for an MGB is a doddle - many companies in the UK would do that if they wish to machine cast iron, many don't want too, a cast iron disc 1/4 thick is tricky. Failing to machine a steel disc true is diabolical these days, they should be shot.

Not if the company have put a “wet behind the ears” apprentice on the job, then it is the management who should be shot for not inspecting his/her work properly :!: :(

Hi all,

a quick update and a big thank you.

RGM gave me a full refund (including postage costs) so they obviously agreed with my findings. Thank you Roger.

The really big thank you goes to Peter AKA dobba99 who was true to his word and machined a spare disc which I had. I fitted it tonight and have no more pulsing at the lever. So If you have any disc issues, PM Peter.

Cheers,

cliffa.
