Hi can anyone identify the year of a Triumph Bonnie frame i have No.61613

If so then, the frame number should have a DU prefix as well as the model code?

Photos would be useful.

I just assumed that he didn't bother typing the DU prefix. It must have one, the early numbers don't go high enough.

Without a prefix, a Triumph "Bonnie" (T120? T140?) frame number 61613 could also be a '74 model T140.

I mean the DU prefix, on a later bike the numbers are almost meaningless without the prefix (the prefix indicate the month and year the bike was built)

The prefix indicates the 'month' and the 'production season/year' - as Triumph's production period did not run concurrently with the calendar year - so many bikes were built during the preceding year to the one indicated by the year prefix letter.

Yes, I know, build years (depending where you look) run from approximately August to July. My Bonnie for example was built in September 71, but is listed as a 72 model. This is because Triumph would have considered August 71 on as the 72 build year.
Is everyone confused yet ? :mrgreen:
