forum log in problem.

can anyone help me solve this problem,
About 2 weeks ago a could not log in to the site on one of my work computers. Got thew following message.

This site can’t be reached
The webpage at norton-commando-f1.html might be temporarily down or it may have moved permanently to a new web address.


Search Google for accessnorton norton commando
ERR_NAME_RESOLUTION_FAILED

Have you tried again since. ?

Sometimes a computer in the (interweb thingy) chain may have failed, or was having a bad day.
Your work or their ISP may have blocked this site, or all the USA, or all-the-rest-of-the-world,
for who knows what reason - or was having a bad day.
The undersea cable may have failed, or the chinese spy guys may have been having a coffee break.

If it continues, ask your work IT guy.
Who may ban you from 'puters if they are not work related !!

Hi Rohan. Yes tried several times . My son even had a look and could not work it out.

Did you try clearing your browser history or using a different web browser i.e. chrome or Firefox?

I had that problem a while ago and clearing the browser history, cache, whatever, straightened it out. Down at the bottom of this page you can also delete the 'board cookies'. Might have to clear your cookies in the browser too.

Went to sort this problem out this morning and "WHALE OIL BEEF HOOKED'. Its working without me doing anything?????

HAPPENED AGAIN TODAY. Bastard of a thing. Same message as before.

Oh well. I will have yto check it out again tomorrow. Funny it works ojk on the computer next to it which isnt normally iused for internet.

Funny it works ojk on the computer next to it which isnt normally iused for internet.

That does suggest the problem is more likely to be 'at your end' as you've managed to log in and post from a different computer.

Yes, you'd have to ask is the computer 'next to it' on the same network or wifi, or using the same ISP.

Did you try more than once. Sometimes just doing a <control> F5 can force a refresh. (Windoze)
Or even a power on/off.
Even 'puters can get their knickers in a twist...
