Hi,
I have two + 74 commandos all taken apart. I am trying to fugue out what parts i need to build a set of forks. Any help identifying or locating parts would be a big help. Thanks!

Parts i know i need:
new fork tubes
Top nuts
Top nut washers
Main tube top cover rings
nut and busing that goes on top of oil damper rod (for one)
Headlight ears
gators
main tube lock rings with cups
oil damper tube bolt + washer (for one)
fork seals

Things i might need:
bushing kit

I need my parts book not to miss up on stuff that ain't quite up to snuff before i got into it. Only item missing I can see off hand are the big thin oil rings that keep the head light mounts from rattling like a scared snake. Here's Old Brits explosion view, same as parts book. Its not bad idea to renew the bottom damper composite sealing load clamp down baring washers. Also run a dowel with sand paper of a small sanding flapper down insides of of tubes as that is where most fork friction occurs.

The damper tube should be modified to close off lower holes by Al pegs, welding or JBWeld then moved above damper tapper lip about 1/2-3/4" and preferablely staggered and in two sizes to equal about same vent area as factory holes. This give soft indefinite silent bottoming stop and rebound.

Thanks, it looks like I can get all the bits from that site. I also just noticed i have two types of oil dampers. I have two that are longer than the other. The longer ones have two holes in the bottom and the shorter one has four. Is it the longer ones i want for my bike?

The short damper is probably for Dominator/Atlas Roadholder forks.
