When was that, as we have just recently rebooted the server.
I can load that specific thread instantly on my iPhone currently.

Hi Matt, that was just before I replied.

I just clicked on this and again, around 40 seconds to load..

still getting reload requests as well.

Still bad this morning. It’s actually worse than ever I would say.

Elasticsearch was also down following the reboot, I've just started that, so that might have been causing it to appear worse.

As I was in the forefront of the concerns about the site availability when using crapple iPad running iOS 14.6, I think I should post about how I see the ‘fixes’ today

so, here at 09.36 BST. ie GMT +1, each and every time I’ve gone to look at a thread at random it has opened as fast as a fast thing, and I know about fast ;)

I am very pleased that so much work has been done behind the scenes to (fingers crossed) provide a cure for the difficult days we’ve had previously. Well done to everyone that has done a part to make it work.

Well - I have just noticed a positive change.
I have made 3 posts - including an attachment - with no delays
This is on iMac (Big Sur 11.4) which previously was generally painfully slow.
Hopefully things are looking up!
Cheers

It’s still behaving.

I’m interested, what was the fix in the end?
Hi Cliff,

The issue was related to Linux Kernel parameters on the server. A few parameters were set wrong (I have no idea why).

net.ipv4.tcp_tw_recycle = 1
net.ipv4.tcp_tw_reuse = 1

The 2 parameters above should not have been enabled. Hours of work to find this, but they have been disabled and now all is good in toy land again, I think.

More info here: http://lxr.linux.no/linux+v3.2.8/Documentation/networking/ip-sysctl.txt#L459

Have a great day :)

Thanks for the update Jerry. Strange it only affects certain Apple OS versions though.
