I have just completed a 72 750 that was a fire survivor.I have just discovered how to post photos so here are a few shots the morning after the fire...all that black stuff is tar and debris from the roof, this machine had thousands of gallons of water and chemicals dumped on it.I also lost a 1969 BMW R-69 -S-US I lost a 87 K 75 and the Norton .I have a early CNW bike that did not get to much damage and the shop was a total lose....second time fire has changed my life.I was in a bad house fire when I was 6 YO and this one....no lose of life and thank G-D for good garage keepers insurance.I will try to get the build and photos on the rebuild section

Sad to see that!

Glad no one was hurt.
A lot of heat from above enveloped your Norton from the looks of it. Good to see your tank didn't blow.
Fire is hideous, hope the days to come puts you out riding again and would be very interested in photos of your rebuild, both shop and bike.

I really like the green and gray or silver.... What type of paint did you use on the frame? Also a thumbs up on the little rack on back behind the seat. Cj

You were lucky most of the damage was done to the top of the Norton and not the whole bike as well no one hurt, my Norton went through a major fire back in the 80s and lucky it was similar damage as yours, but I was on it when it went up, scary stuff and major panic sets in when you trying to put it out, anyway that's another story, its looking great now and you were able to save it.

The biggest problem I had was I had to “back burner “ the bike as I was scrambling to get the shop up and running again and all the water that rained down on the bikes...well we all know what that does so it was a full rebuild. I powder coated the frame in a champagne color and the body work was done in a modern Jaguar BRG. The rack is part of a early CNW luggage system
I guess now that I figured out how to post photos I should switch this over to the rebuild section and start a build thread

Here are a few more

I might start up a new thread called "The fire thread" and see who else has suffered a major fire with their Norton or any other bike for that matter, as for mine it could have been worst at the time, mine was a fuel fire and the bike had fired up when it went up with me on it and water would have been a big mistake at the time.
I have come across 2x 650 Kawka's the early ones that were the BSA look a likes that had been in a house fire, they were completely gone they were both a pile of melted metal, they were parked under the house that completely burned to the ground, that was way back in the late 70s.
