This is from a friend in NY, sharing some joy, with more time than money this year. Joe is building a Commando that mimicks most of Peel's special features. His favorite ride so far is a hopped up modified paired down SR500 he flings around on to forget his cares. But he's also ridden with Ben English so knows the potential of our big ole heavy British twins that don't buzz. ..... hobot ....

Norton fuel taps.

So I gathered up all the busted Nort. fuel taps I had, and got some from Ben, some from Tim,,,

took the best Valve pieces and made molds from JB Weld, at first I didn't think the JB would harden enough, but they sat for a few weeks and they are hard to almost brittle. Then I lined the molds w/ clear food wrap and mixed up a batch of more JB and stuffed it in the molds as much as I could, and let them set for 2 weeks, and Bango!!!

Took the new pieces to the drill press and with a steady hand cut grooves and drilled holes in the stems of the valves. Bango!! I'm in hopefully they won't leak!!

Thanks for reading,

Joe Piska
