Fern Winter storm 2026 (aka "Stahmageddon")

Looks like @Carl H might get blasted up there in Massachusetts as well. I'm screwed, I have plenty of beer, but I didn't invite any women to stay and weather the storm:(
If you know women to invite, you're doing better than me :(

It was looking bad snow-wise for a while in northern Virginia this afternoon/evening. Big fluffy flakes coming fast but it has stopped here - about 1" on the grass, and 1/2" on the roads.

Yes Greg thank you for the weather update. As far as the women go I was behind the eight ball maybe when they're done shoveling they will be too tired to leave 😀

6:00 am South Jersey
Loss power for almost 5 hrs. Came back at 5 am and lights are flickering again as I am typing this. Guessing over a foot and still snowing

You really want to have supplies for a week and a way to heat water or cook in an old fashioned sno storm that happens to be a Blizzard, I even have an Emergency crank radio, The worst part is shoveling a 100 ft. path to get to the Ariens Sno Thro. The old Tecumseh will earn it's keep tomorrow.

The hospitals will be busy with heart attacks. Please don't be a statistic gentlemen. Get the young lads to do the heavy totin

Travel ban in NYC which is a great thing as it keeps the streets free for true emergencies. No school and people told to stay at home unless they can take public transport. I walked the mile to work. 6-7" easy and a great effort by the supers and business owners getting a lot of the sidewalks shoveled.

Yep your right Carl.
I have big woodstove in my living room. Fired it up Sat morning. I got up this morning it was 71 degrees downstairs with the power already out for over 3 hr. Also have a generator in my detached garage that I can power the basic stuff in my house. I have to watch the frig, freezer and well pump. Can't run all at once.
This is not very common down here.

Hey Deets, where are you in the Southern part of the Peoples Republic of New Germany? I'm in Burl-in-ton. I know RT is in LBI. The member's map is not too accurate. If you have well water you might be a Piney?
