Hi, I have just bought a vintage second had steering damper unit. I wanted one for a 1952 ES2 / Inter frame. The person I bought this from did think it was a ES2 but was not 100% sure and was unsure of year. Anyway it does not fit :( The steering anchor part is to short to reach the screw hole in the frame. I have done a Google search and found the anchor plate I have described as a vintage Norton one but it does not say what model its off ? Any ideas and does anyone have a correct one they can photograph for me. I think looking in a old Norton parts book I have it is the same for quite a few models and is part No J 49 in the book. Also the one I bought has a unusual nut under the plate that screws on rod but book shows a steering damper bottom plate part No J50, is this needed or can I just use the nut under the friction plate ? I would post photos but have no idea how to do it on this forum ??

May be you can ask Andy at kingpin , he is quite helpfull......
