EPCO stainless mufflers

Has anyone had any experience with Epco's stainless peashooters? They make one specific to Commandos and a 'Sport Muffler' which is a universal peashooter that uses a glass pack. I'm looking for something a little more mellow than the stock peashooters. Thanks.

I have a set of them & I like them. Can't say for sure but I think they might be a bit quieter. Not everyone has exactly had speedy service from them, mine were supposedly "in stock" but I had a bit of the old run around & it took like four months to get them. Do a search of the forum. I do think the quality is good although I had to clean the welds up inside to get them to slip over the header pipes.

I have a set on my Interstate that are 15+ years old. Fit is good except that the front of the muffler tapers all the way to the opening rather than having a 2-3 inch straight section at the clamp. This causes the muffler to be closer to the kickstart than mufflers with the straight transition. A Mk3 kicker gives enough clearance, but with the early style kicker it would foul against the muffler when kicking. The sound is a little deeper than most but not objectionable.

Rocky Point Cycle was a re-seller for EPCO when Stan owned it. New owner (RoadScholar) is a forum contributor, so you might want to check with him also.

I bought a set off e-bay that were listed as "seconds" for a very nice price. They arrived in a timely manner and I could not find any flaws in them. They sound more mellow than the stock peashooters - a little lower frequency. They have turned slightly yellow with use (about 1500 miles now)- not objectionable at all. I would buy another set for my '74 850 if I could find them at a low enough price.
