According to an old list of serial numbers I have, the first Wolverhampton engine was 20M3S/134108 - P suffix, September 1969 dispatch date

The first points in timing cover bike was early in 1969 (March?), around serial number 131200

spoke to norman white andover and a few others turns out shes right a very late Woolwich engine so looking forward to picking her up right or wrong its a commando fastback from 69 in the right colour and after tons or research looks like she left the factory with the number like that a few others did around that period to :) got the dating thing of the owners club and the number is exactly the same no P or anything on the factory records and a 20m3s 13344x in june 69

thanks for all the help everyone :)

Good to hear its all kosher...

We diverge, but just out of curiousity, why would a WOLVERHAMPTON built Commando
have a /P (for Plumstead) engine number ??

Unless the engine had been built in Plumstead, and came up in the move to the new premises in Wolverhampton,
maybe ??
