Been down with flu so my wife bought me a copy of Motorcycle news, bit of a comic but sometimes has some good stuff in it.
Never thought of Lawson as a Commando rider. I guess he didn't either since he's had this '75 850 in a crate for 21 years only to unpack and sell. Another one for a collector museum........

Rear drum, 31xxxx, RH shift, no ES, puts it as a 1974. I love when people don't eaven do simple research.

He probably thought that he had a left-hand shift in the crate and is selling it because he's worried about one that changes on the proper side !

Did the US market continue to receive MkIIs (not 'A's) up until the commencement of MkIII deliveries ? It's interesting to see one in white.

It is typical of Bonhams to screw up details like this. They care most about hyping up their auctions and making money, the facts are never a high priority with them.

This won't be the last time but here it goes again, the bike was probably titled as a 1975.

Not an error on anyone's part except for a bunch of anal retentive Norton junkies hangin' out on some forum on the interwebs.
