I am restoring my '68 Fastback. The breather hose looks original and is smooth. Is this correct or should it be herringbone? Thanks

The original on mine was smooth. However it did have a wide part where it went over the elbow that comes out of the timed breather and then stepped down right next to that fitting to fit the tank. Coming off the elbow, it had one of those crimp on ferrules and a clamp at the tank. As I remember the elbow is 7/16" and the tank fitting is 3/8". I replaced it with a 3/8" hose and pressed it over the elbow, used a hose clamp on both ends and it seems fine. Old Britts sells them, but they are about $30. If you take off those barbs from the other fittings, you can use 3/8" hose for the whole shebang and get enough hose for about $5 at your hardware store. I'd get a picture of the original, but it was hard as a rock and I probably threw it out. I don't see it around.

Oops, I found it in my junk drawer. It was cut off short because the other end got bad and I spliced it.
