Also the right muffler on that bike doesn't look like a Conti, I can't see the left pipe clearly enough.
Still should sound good though.

I apologize for the quality of the video. I will get much better video one of these days. I'm not saying my daughter is a better videographer than the wife but...

I just rode it home, so only about 5 miles. The thing is a beast. It sounds so nasty. While it feels a little like a /5 in the sitting position (low bars, foot pegs not as far forward as a stock Norton) the sound is unreal. And when you whack the throttle you better know which way you are pointed because you will be there momentarily.

It might be a tad rich or there might be a slight air leak as it will give a good pop on a closed throttle. Otherwise once it's warmed up it runs flawlessly. Front brake is a little wooden but still better than an unsleeved Lockheed.

This is my dad's bike for when he comes out to visit. Although once he gets a ride on it he'll probably take it back home. I can't blame him.

My brother will be out this summer. I don't know which bike is going to make him grin more.

A previous owner had removed the instrument panel and put on a nice bracket that unfortunately only holds the speedo. I'm going to see if I can make a bracket that holds the tach too. I've seen them before on the 860. I'm not keen on the red thing on the shocks. No idea how the petcocks work. And the mirror needs flipped down. I'll pick all the stock parts, books and manuals tomorrow.

And since you're going to ask... $6k.

You can fit another disc easy enough, 280mm if I remember, and a brembo 08 caliper. (look at Guzzi for brake parts)
Don't lug it like you can a Norton, keep it above 4000 except in the car park in 1st and maybe 2nd.
Try Ian Gowanlock for parts, Italspares on eBay, he may have NOS for that model.
Braded brake hoses off wrecked late model Ducatis should fit, Monsters with sit up bars should be the best fit.
Warm up well, good 50w oil and change regularly, don't lug it.

You can download a manual from bevel heaven.

Ciao

(pasta for tea?)

Looks like a lot for the money, and looks well cared for too.
How does it compare to the Commano in performance?
Tests of the day put it roughly in that category, although the 1/4 mile time at 13.1 was a little slower than some Commando numbers.

I don't know what alls been done to this bike but it feels really strong. Both have roughly the same published hp.

It was extremely well cared for.

So when will it get the Yellow paint?

Nice looking bike, and good value for the money. Looks like a fine specimine.

Not my bike. My dad likes red so it will stay red.

Trying to find the picture of the Black 900 with the red & yellow pinstripe , V 750 Sport ish . :? ( wee need the idley whistling icon  )

I think the biggest failing of the 860 design was that Giorgetto messed up by covering the rear cylinder with those side covers.

Congratulations to you and your father.
You won't be disappointed.
In fact, I'm jealous, even envious.

. . . . . aaaah I better stop, this is getting political . . . .

Good on you, Dave.

Someone else has really good taste.

Notice anything about the Norton' s tank, Swoosh?

Best of luck on a fine purchase. Bet you end up hiding it when your Pop comes.

Not a chance.

It's going to take a lot of will power. I did a little reading about your Gina Lollobrigida, and she's seems to be a good fit with your Diana Dors. Leave them alone in the garage, who knows what might happen.
