Dangling ground wire...>

Grounds to the back side of the right hand Z plate at the rear footrest bolt.

That's what I thought but it sure looks like the wire will be exposed & not long enough to tuck down behind the Z plate. I'll pull the bolt and see what I've got, maybe the bundle can pull down a bit. Thanks!

The wire fits behind the nut and washer on the inside of the Z-plate. The two front mounts for the foot rest are studs; the rear one is a bolt that goes through the rest and Z-plate to anchor the ground wire, too. If you have the parts book, look at the blow-apart diagram for Group 15, and it should clear things up.

I ran my bolt through the other way so I could replace the plain nuts with 3 polished stainless acorn nuts, backed by shakeproof washers. The ground wire is behind the head of the bolt on the inside of the Z-plate

Got it! # 15 are the two forward studs and # 18 is the rear bolt. So it actually connect directly below the zener. Thank you, appreciate it! Interesting what you did with that bolt to get the acorn nuts on.
