crank triggered ignition

I requested info on the upcoming unit but they dont reply. I also asked them about the 65w but no reply. Must be good to have a business where you
dont have to answer inquiries.

Anyone had any more experience since last post regarding Electrexworld 65w Ign/charging unit. It seems the power is split into AC and DC, Wouldnt it be better to convert it all to DC to the battery. Electrexworld are not the best at replying to questions. Then if using all LED's I think it may suffice.

Yes, I find Electrex World frustrating, waiting for answers. I asked for info regarding the possible use of their system without generator on my race bike with a 40mm belt pulley....I got an asnwer eventually, but it made no sense. I think you would need to fabricate a mounting if you don't have it mounted ike a standard Commando.

Bruno Perlinski uses a similar system on his race bikes, I want to take a closer look next time I see his bikes.

I want to run crank triggered, i initially fitted a Steve Maney Boyer, and certainly felt it was cleaner running that way, I am currenty using the same ignition with standard cam triggering, so direct comparison.

Steve's system is intended for race bikes no with alternator.

I'm looking to use with alternator. I looking into retro fitting a unit from something else.

Why not use the permanent magnets of the alternator rotor to trigger a conventional hall effect sensor? The problem of sensing the cranshaft position can be easily solved by using a secondary hall effect sensor fitted in the usual place for switching the primary signal. After a few seconds (say, 300 crankshaft rotations), the secondary system may be turned off. The system would need a proprietary control unit. Maybe someone with knowledge of electronics will comment on obstacles and how reliable such a system could be.
Ahh, yes, the stator is an obstacle .... maybe the sensor can be integrated with the stator somehow?

Cheers, Knut
