I see AN have these.

Converting Mk3 to pre-Mk3 seat

I assume that since the tangs on the Mk3 seat face down to engage the lock mechanism, you need two of these to convert a Mk3 seat for a pre mk3 bike?
This dosent answer your question but I had a MK3 seat on my mk2a
I made a plate like the one shown but with a straight slot
I'm guessing with the AN one there's enough wiggle room to fit the seat ?

There's no bracket on the right-hand side to mount a second adaptor without bolting it to the rim of the seat pan that the cover attaches to so the original lug would have to be cut off.
The original lug is also cranked to clear the seat rail although as baz says, the seat would probably wiggle into position it would be simpler to just cut off the angled section of the adaptor so it (more-or-less) matches the R/H lug.
